Aluminium cable scrap
Overhead line, power and service cable.
What we accept
Aluminium overhead line conductor, power cable and service cable, from distribution work, replacement and site clearance.
Overhead line often carries a steel core
Overhead conductor is frequently aluminium over a steel core. That changes what is recoverable, so overhead line is assessed separately from plain aluminium cable.
Kept apart from copper cable
Aluminium and copper cable are loaded separately. A mixed cable load is graded on its lowest constituent, so the two streams are kept apart in the yard.
Overhead line carries a steel core
Overhead conductor is often reinforced with a steel core. The steel is weighed out of the aluminium, since only the conductor is paid at aluminium rate.
Conductor metal is identified first
Service and power cable may run either aluminium or copper conductor, and the two are not close in value. The conductor is identified before a load is priced.
